This Week at the Market

This Week — December 13, 2020

Only two weeks left of the 2020 Brighton Farmers’ Market! We are operating now on our winter schedule — please join us this week and next at Brighton High School, with reduced hours of 10 to 11:30 am. We will close during January and February and will post plans for re-opening in 2021 on Facebook, Instagram, and through this newsletter when plans have been finalized. We will not be holding an indoor market at Brookside as of now.

Safety

As COVID cases rise in our area, we are stressing the importance of the safety measures that must be followed at Brighton Farmers’ Market. Farmers’ markets are designated essential businesses by New York State, and we know how important it to be able to provide our community with the Market’s all-local foods, especially now. Please help us keep our Market as safe as possible for all customers and vendors by following the safety measures below:

  • Please send one person per family when possible, and leave quickly when done.
  • Please leave dogs at home.
  • Masks are required.
  • Please remember to keep distance from others

UPDATED MARKET SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • Preordering is not required but is strongly encouraged. Credit cards are strongly encouraged, but cash transactions will be allowed. Links to individual vendor sites to make it easy to preorder are listed above and at brightonfarmersmarket.org. Preordering is the safest way to purchase vendors’ products and it assures customers’ ability to obtain product in short supply.
  • SNAP and FMNP customers are welcome as always. Preordering is not required. Tokens can be purchased at the Market booth. FMNP customers will give coupons directly to vendors. No credit/debit tokens will be sold.
  • One individual per family should attend where possible, and we ask that dogs stay home.
  • All vendors and customers must wear face masks that cover nose and mouth.
  • Social distancing must be maintained — six feet between individuals. We will space tents as far apart as possible.
  • Vendors will maintain safe spaces — surfaces wiped with disinfectant spray, and hand sanitizer will be available at every booth.
  • Vendors should have safeguards in place to ensure that customers not touch product, and to ensure that customers do not place any personal objects, such as bags, money, purses or cell phones, on vendor tables. Customers and vendors must stay home if sick.
  • These Market Rules will be attached and incorporated in the Brighton Farmers Market Health Safety Plan, a copy of which will be on the Market premises while the Market is open.

See you Sunday!
