Farm Practices
“We do not spray our crops (not even OMRI listed sprays). Although we are not certified organic, we use organic practices and are incorporating bio-dynamic practices where possible. We have no-till beds in all of our high tunnels and low tunnel beds. These beds were established with a thick base layer of seaweed sourced through the Ontario County Aquatic Vegetation Management Program, leaves from the Village of Naples, and composted animal manures from the animals on our farm. We are building two additional 100-ft tunnels and converting a 1/2 acre of field beds to no-till beds using these same practices. These practices build soil on our farm and in combination with perennial and annual flower beds, build up the beneficial insects present.”
