ColorBrightonGreen’s Eco-Fair

.

This Week at the Market – June 16, 2019

It’s a great week to bring a dad to Brighton Farmers’ Market, (Happy Father’s Day!) because it’s the week of ColorBrightonGreen’s annual Eco-Fair! Come learn about community solar, new recycling rules, local citizens groups, and land and water conservation. There will be student groups, children’s activities, a silent auction, and more.

ColorBrightonGreen at the Market

This is the 12th year that ColorBrightonGreen has partnered with Brighton Farmers’ Market  to, per ColorBrightonGreen’s mission statement, “educate and engage individuals and organizations in actions that protect and improve our environment.” As part of that, this entirely volunteer-driven organization has collected untold tons of hard-to-recycle items over the years at the Market, loaded them to bursting in their garages, and recycled them responsibly. This year because of changes in recycling rules (and most likely, from sheer exhaustion) the group is making significant changes to its recycling program. It is ramping up its educational efforts on important environmental education issues, and will be at the Market only on the third Sunday of each month to distribute information on important non-recycling climate actions that are needed to reduce carbon emissions. They will accept some items for recycling on the third Sundays at the Market; check here for items they will be able to accept.  We offer a huge thank you to ColorBrightonGreen volunteers for their tremendous efforts over the years and for the valuable service they have provided and will continue to provide to our community.
