This Week at the Market

This Week — May 18, 2025

May is AANHPI Heritage Month — the month to honor Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander heritage. We’ll be joining the celebration this Sunday at Brighton Farmers’ Market. Students from Brighton High School’s Asian Student Association will join us to offer information about the organization’s efforts to bring Asian students and others together to discuss the various cultures of Asia and relevant issues. At 9:30, Supervisor Bill Moehle will introduce guest vocalist Miwais Nezari, who will perform for us; Miwais immigrated from Afghanistan in 2016. We also honor our market vendors Rebecca Vang of Crust Pie Co. and Catt Hsu of Happy Gut Sanctuary for sharing their cultures with our community.

Music at the Market

Gregg Dougherty-Herman and Friends join us in the music tent.

Ask a Scientist

She leads the Microplastic Workgroup of Western NY, with over 60 participants and 17 organizations with an interest in microplastics research. She will offer a demo and answer questions; kids are welcome.
