You’re probably starting to think about the holidays, which means you’re probably thinking about food.  We hope that  means you’re thinking about Brighton Farmers’ Market, because our farmers are bringing the best all-local food to the Market every Sunday — everything you need for the best holiday eating.

Clearview Farm is bringing certified organic winter pears, Brussels sprouts, Deadon red-green savoy cabbage, dry white kidney beans, Keuka Gold potatoes, leeks, garlic, eschallions, red onions, scallions, celeriac, butternut and green acorn squash, dried herbs, eggs, Munchnerbier radishes, Judy’s and Red Russian kale, Osaka purple mustard greens, broccoli raab and free recipes. Honeyhill Farm will have freshly-harvested sweet carrots, French style shallots, large cooking onions, red onions, winter squash, a limited amount of fresh baby ginger, and some large frozen chickens.

Growing Family Farms will have sweet potatoes, garlic, French heirloom squash, acorn, butternut, Nantucket pie pumpkins, caraflax cabbage, rainbow chard,  pea shoots, free range eggs, granola and ferments from Small World, and Singer Naturals tart cherry, Concord grape, and organic apple juices. Buzz’s Garden is bringing lettuce bouquets, spinach, curly and Dino kale, cut salad mix, escarole, baby bok choy, scallions, baby beets, bulk quantities of Hakurei turnips, French breakfast radishes, and baby kohlrabi. Shady Lane Farm will have leeks, Brussels sprouts, cooking onions, sweet potatoes, beets, rainbow chard, purple Daikon radishes, French fingerling potatoes, Jerusalem artichokes, assorted winter squash including butternut and delicata, broccoli, jalapeno peppers, and parsley.

Lighthouse Gardens will have certified organic rainbow cherry tomatoes, German White and Italian Purple garlic, seed garlic for planting, sweet onions, baby head lettuce bouquets, baby kale mix, supergreens mix, D’Avignon French breakfast and Easter Egg radishes, hakurei turnips, purple top turnips, wheatgrass, select kitchen garden herbs, and organic potting soil. Happy Hooves Organic Farm is bringing 100% grass-fed and finished organic beef cuts and organic no-soy pasture-raised pork cuts; Della is taking orders for half pigs cut to the customer’s requirements and for organic no-soy free-range Thanksgiving turkeys. Andy’s Specialty Garlic & Produce is bringing certified organic lettuce, radishes, bunches of sweet carrots, kale, sweet potatoes, red beets, acorn and butternut squashes, turnips, daikon radishes, pie pumpkins, green and purple cabbage, garlic, collard greens, and arugula.

Allens Hill Farm is bringing free-range chicken eggs, aquaponically grown basil, apple cider molasses (an all-natural sweetener for cookie and cake recipes, as well as basting sauce for chicken and pork), dukkah, seven varieties of apple cider molasses, granola, and baking mixes. Bolton Farms will have plenty of leafy greens including lettuces, arugula, and chard. Shannon Brook Farm is featuring organically-fed pasture-raised pork chops and smoked pork jowl bacon, known as guanciale. Nordic Farm will have many jams, pickles, and granola. Wohlschlegel’s Naples Maple Farm is bringing maple syrup in new fancy glass (including bunny bottles) — great for gifts, and gift boxes of soft molded sugar candy. Newbury Park Pastries will have turkey dinner, chicken, pulled pork, veggie, shepherds, and panang pot pies, plus apple raspberry pies. Tripleberry Farm is bringing pesticide free jams and goat milk soaps, including winter and holiday scents.

Market Details

The Brighton Winter Farmers’ Market is held Sunday afternoons, 1 to 4 pm, at Brighton’s Brookside Center, 220 Idlewood Road.  There is a second entrance to the building just off of S. Winton Road, between Westfall and 590.  The Market is sponsored by the Town of Brighton.
