Winter and Summer Market Schedule

The summer season of Brighton Farmers’ Market opens on May 14. We’ll return to the Brighton High School parking lot, 1150 Winton Road S., Rochester Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm. The winter Market continues through May 7.

This Week at the Market – April 23, 2017

There will be lots of that pretty shade of April green at the Market this week, including the first ramps of the season from Clearview Farm. Growing Family Farms will have certified organic spinach, mesclun, baby Asian greens, sunnies, pea shoots, kale, Swiss chard, pasture raised chicken and duck eggs, whole chickens, stew hens, Small World ferments and granola, and Singer Farm Naturals tart cherry juice. Andy’s Specialty Garlic & Produce is bringing certified organic spinach, red beets, sweet potatoes, pea shoots, daikon radishes, and garlic powder.

Fisher Hill Farm is bringing fresh chicken, loads of spring mix lettuce, roots, apples, eggs, and Red Jacket juices. Buzz’s Garden will have certified organic arugula, spinach, lettuce baskets, lettuce mix, radishes, and potted herbs — basil, oregano, thyme, sage, chives, parsley, and dill.

Lakestone Family Farm will have whole chickens (buy one get one half price), eggs, young garlic, and spring kale. Fellenz Family Farm is bringing lots of kale, spicy micro mix, mild micro mix, rutabaga, herb and flower transplants, honey, and Wild Thistle Herbal products.

Shannon Brook Farm is featuring pasture raised, organically-fed pork chops and recommends this recipe. Bolton Farms will have Boston bibb, lettuce bouquets, spring mix, arugula, spinach, watercress, tatsoi, parsley, cilantro, Red Russian kale, Tuscan kale, curly kale, micro greens, mustard greens escarole, and cilantro.

Happy Hooves Organic Farm is bringing assorted cuts of organic 100% grass fed and grass finished beef, organic pasture raised pork fed no soy and no corn including fresh sliced ham steaks great for grilling (not cured or smoked), and raw wildflower honey. Stonecrop Farm will have certified organic eggs, whole ducks, and cuts of pasture raised pork.

Wohlschlegel’s Naples Maple Farm is bringing pure NYS maple syrup (golden, amber, dark, and very dark), maple cream spread, granulated maple sugar, maple garlic rub, maple mustard, maple coffee, maple tea, wheat free oatmeal maple dog treats, soft and hard sugar shapes, and body care products — maple vanilla soap, lotion, and lip balm. Newbury Park Pastries will have chicken, BBQ beef, panang, veggie, and shepherds pot pies.

Lavender Moon is bringing soaps, salves, and lotions along with herbal body care products and culinary herbal delights; it’s not too early to stock up on Bug OFF and Tick ME OFF all natural pest repellents. Tripleberry Farm will have pesticide-free traditional and reduced sugar jams, including fresh raspberry jams, plus goat milk soaps.

Farmhouse Table is bringing fresh salads including spring quinoa salad and German potato salad, chicken and vegetable soup, and a mix of fresh baked treats. Brian’s Kitchen will have old-fashioned cookies and chocolate fudge.
