It’s a double celebration day! Happy Father’s Day, and Happy Juneteenth! As part of our Juneteenth celebration, at 9:30 we’ll welcome special guests Thomas Warfield, who will sing a spiritual, and Carlos Merriweather, who, performing as Frederick Douglass, will do a reading from the great man’s writings. Also, at 11 am, Jackqui Snowden will lead marketgoers in a soul line dance, a popular and meaningful activity in Black communities. Please join us for this joyous event!

Community Groups

Students from Brighton High School’s African American/Black Studies Club join us as part of our Juneteenth event, to offer information on the club’s activities to provide greater understanding of African American impacts historically, politically, and culturally.

Members of the Brighton Town Board return to the Councilmember on Your Corner tent to discuss matters of importance to the community. They will be joined by members of the Town’s IDEA Board, who will discuss efforts to support diversity in the Town.
