Pride Day at the Market

This Week — July 7, 2024

This Sunday is Pride Day at the Market! It’s a special celebration to honor and support the LGBTQ+ members of our community — vendors, customers, and guests. Brighton Farmers’ Market is enriched by the diversity evident at our Market; all are welcome this Sunday and throughout the year. Please join us at 9:00 am for a brief ceremony, including a musical performance by Transposing Voices, a Rochester-based gender-affirming choir. Special thanks to Rochester LGBTQ+ Together for partnering with the Market to organize this special event. Happy Pride!

Music at the Market

We welcome Bob Dietch to the music tent from 9:15 to 11. The Rob Varon Trio joins us from 11 to 1.

Community Groups

A number of community groups will offer information about efforts to support and honor the LGBTQ+ community, including HRC Western & Central NY, ImageOut, Next Generation Men of Transition, PFLAG Rochester, Rainbow Seniors ROC, Rochester LGBTQ+ Together, Rochester Women’s Community Chorus, and Transparent Rochester.

Councilmember on Your Corner returns — members of the Brighton Town Board will discuss issues of concern to the community, with special guest State Senator Jeremy Cooney. Members of the Town of Brighton IDEA Board will offer information on efforts to support inclusion, diversity, and equity in the Town.

Staff from the Braddock Bay Songbird Research project will join us in the Ask a Scientist booth.

Brighton Food Cupboard

Please consider donating to the Brighton Food Cupboard to help its efforts to support a stronger local food system for all.

EBT/SNAP Bonus Program

Brighton Farmers’ Market is pleased to offer SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) customers the opportunity to purchase tokens using their SNAP benefits, which can be used to buy SNAP eligible foods at the Market. We’re excited to be able to offer the FreshConnect bonus program to our SNAP/EBT customers! For every $2 spent in SNAP benefits receive a $2 bonus check. (limit of 25 checks or $50 per cardholder per day). Stop by the Market table!
