This Week at the Market

This Week — October 29, 2023

If you were to ask one of our farmers how they’re feeling, they’d probably say “fine” while thinking, “exhausted.” Farming is physically grueling. It’s emotionally stressful, risky; so much is beyond the farmer’s control — uncertainties of weather, markets, weather on market days(!). And nobody’s getting rich operating one of these small, local sustainable farms. We’re incredibly grateful to these farmers for the physically demanding effort, the risks they bear, and the sacrifices they make to bring us the food we are so lucky to put on our tables.

The main season of the Market continues through November 19, 9 to 1 in the high school parking lot. The late season begins November 26 and continues throughout the winter. We’re excited that our new winter market location on Westfall Road is nearing completion; information on our move into that facility will be posted on our website and included in the weekly newsletter.
