Summer Market Opens!

Brighton Farmers’ Market celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year; Opening Day for the summer 2018 season is Sunday, May 13. The market runs from 9 am to 1 pm every Sunday through November 18. Brighton Supervisor Bill Moehle will preside over the traditional vine-cutting ceremony at 10 am on Opening Day.

The Brighton Farmers’ Market actively promotes a healthy, sustainable local food system and supports the farmers working to provide our communities with good food. Nearly 50 vendors, many organic, will join the market during the season, offering a wide variety of fresh local fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, dairy products, flowers, honey, maple products, baked goods, and more. Bedding plants for the garden, including certified organic plants, are offered by local farmers. Each week there will be live music, food trucks, activities for children, and community groups offering information about their missions. Special events this year include the Bike Rodeo on June 10 and Color Brighton Green’s Eco-Fair on June 17.

The Brighton Farmers’ Market welcomes EBT/SNAP and WIC customers. The FreshConnect checks bonus program is offered to EBT/SNAP customers; information is available at the Market manager’s booth.

The Brighton Farmers’ Market is held every Sunday morning, from 9 am to 1 pm, in the Brighton High School parking lot, 1150 Winton Road South, Rochester 14618. More information can be found at www.brightonfarmersmarket.org, or e-mail [email protected]; information can also be found on the market’s Facebook page.

The Brighton Farmers’ Market is sponsored by the Town of Brighton.
