Brighton Food Cupboard Day

Brighton Food Cupboard Day

Each week at the Brighton Farmers’ Market we celebrate the abundance of wonderful local food available to us, thanks to our hard-working community of farmers and vendors.  The market’s mission is to help build a strong local food system.  In a healthy food system, everyone has enough food. Unfortunately, according to data from a USDA report, food insecurity in New York State has increased 40% over the last decade. The Brighton Food Cupboard is committed to reducing hunger and food insecurity in our community, and this week we celebrate and support their efforts. Suggestions on how you can help and a list of needed items can be found here. The Food Cupboard will accept donations of these items, fresh market produce, and money at the market this week, Sunday, October 13.  Thanks to the Brighton Food Cupboard for the wonderful work it is doing to help those in our community who need extra support.
