Noto Fruit Farm and Cider Mill
John and Rhonda Noto
Williamson, NY
Crops Grown:
apples, peaches, pears, nectarines, plums, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, sweet and sour cherries, apple cider
Growing methods:
“Although we are not an organic grower of fruits we strive to use as little chemicals as possible to produce our crops. We use a widely known program called Integrated Pest management (IPM). The IPM looks at a number of different factors to determine the least amount of chemicals to be applied and limits the applications to as few as possible. All the apples that we bring to market go through our packing and sorting line. During this process all the fruit is washed with fresh water and run over a series of brushes which cleans the fruit and allows us to sort the fruit ensuring that we are only bringing the highest quality fruits to the markets.”
