I think it’s safe to declare this Sunday’s market the Most Colorful Market of the year. These eggplants from Squash Blossom Farm almost look lit from within. Summer eating doesn’t get much prettier than this. Jeremiah and Ellie will also have lettuce mix, kale, chard, head lettuce, frisee, fennel, scallion, sweet and cipollini onion, carrot, cucumber, eggplant, pepper, cherry and slicing tomato, beet, zucchini, squash blossom, dill, thyme, parsley, sage, and basil. Andy’s Specialty Produce will have certified organic slicing tomatoes, salad mix, seedless cucumbers, arugula, carrots, red beets, kale, radishes, pea shoots, red leaf and romaine lettuce, garlic, sweet onions, and green summer cabbage.

K&S Bischoping is bringing the first freshly harvested apples — apples! — of the season: Pristine and Duchess of Oldenberg. Bolton Farms is bringing arugula, watercress, basil, spring mix, lettuce bouquets, butterhead bibb, bok choi, tatsoi, curly kale, Tuscan kale, Red Russian kale, mustard greens, spicy mix, sorrel, soil grown heirloom tomatoes, green and yellow squash, sweet corn, beans, and pea shoots.

Lagoner Farms will have early Red Haven peaches, white peaches, donut peaches, red and yellow plums, apricots, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and early gold apples. Chicory Blue Gardens will have colorful glads, sunny sunflowers, beautiful mixed bouquets, and flowers for making your own bouquets.

Growing Family Farm will have certified organic tomatoes — heirloom, slicers, saladette, cherry, grape, and bulk Roma; Italian sweet peppers; shishitos; cubanelles; summer eggplant; cucumbers; salad mix; rainbow chard; Italian dandelion; celery; fresh onions; garlic; French filet beans; patty pan squash; zucchini; fresh cut and potted herbs; and Singer Farm Naturals tart cherry juice. LakestoneFamily Farm is bringing round zucchini, Asian eggplants, sweet and hot peppers, garlic, boneless chicken breast, chicken thighs, drumsticks, chicken wings, chicken feet, whole chickens, and chicken bones for stock and broth.

Fellenz Family Farm is bringing certified organic watermelon, cherry tomatoes, Roma and heirloom tomatoes, slicing and pickling cucumbers, fresh onions, Swiss chard, kale, Genovese basil, lemon basil, sweet Thai basil, Tulsi basil, sage, parsley, and eggplant. R&M Bischoping will have cherry tomatoes; baby zucchini; cucumbers, tomatillos; green beans; spring, summer, and fall seasonal honeys; and honey and goat’s milk handmade artisan soaps.

Lighthouse Gardens will have certified organic cherry tomatoes; heirloom tomatoes; carrots; bunches of basil; sweet peppers; Hungarian hot wax peppers; celery; scallions; eggplant; garlic, beets; lettuce bouquets; mixed salad greens; rainbow Swiss chard; kale; radishes;  zucchini and summer squash; certified organic herb and vegetable transplants for summer succession planting; ginger, bay laurel, and fig plants; succulents in pots, planters, and hanging baskets; summer flowering perennials; hostas; lettuce bowls; herb planters; berry plants; and organic potting soil. 

Shannon Brook Farm is bringing certified organic, pasture-raised heritage breed pork: no-nitrate smoked hams, smoked ham slices, smoked and fresh hocks, four types of no-nitrate bacon, ground, butt roasts, loin roasts, two types of chops, six types of sausage, fresh pork belly, country-style ribs, spare ribs, baby back ribs, tenderloins, soup bones, and leaf lard; grass-fed lamb raised on organic pastures: shoulder and leg roasts, loin chops, ground, shanks, short ribs, and organs (tongue, kidneys, hearts, and livers); certified organic, free-range poultry: stew hens, broiler chickens – wholes and halves, chicken necks, livers, gizzards, hearts, and whole ducks; certified organic free-range chicken eggs; and certified organic rhubarb.

Clearview Farm is bringing certified organic cucumbers, fresh Genovese and holy basil, squash (cousa, patty pan, and zucchini), Portuguese and curly kale, dried dill, holy basil-tulsi tea, spearmint, truly free-range eggs, organically-fed 100% grass-grown Angus beef in a variety of cuts (bones, roasts, burger, liver, and more), and Genesee Valley Bean certified organic dry black and pinto beans. Tripleberry Farm will have giant pesticide-free blackberries and pesticide-free blueberries plus a full array of pesticide-free berry jams.

Stonecrop Farm is bringing fresh pasture-raised pork chops, tenderloin, kabob meat, shoulder roasts, steaks, spare ribs, ground pork, sausage, bacon, deli ham, ham steaks, hocks, organ meats, bones, trotters, and rendered lard, plus certified organic fresh whole chickens and feet. Zantopia Gardens will have a nice selection of colorful perennials for late summer planting.

Bristol Mushrooms will have fresh-picked, certified organic lion’s mane and king oyster mushrooms, Brain Booster lion’s mane coffee (now with 40% more in each package), Brain Booster lion’s mane powder, and dried lion’s mane — simply re-hydrate in a soup or stew. Happy HoovesFarm is offering an inventory reduction sale on all cuts of pork and sausages from pasture-raised pigs, beef from 100% grass-fed and grass-finished cows, and some fresh small chickens perfect for parting and grilling; all animals are raised outside on pasture with no corn, no soy, and no wheat organic feed, except cows which only eat grass.

Trademarks Flower Farm is offering a build-your-own bouquet bar, mixed bouquets, bunches of super long-lasting lisianthus, gorgeous dahlias, specialty rudbeckia, gladiolus, sunflowers, cosmos, zinnias, and giant marigolds. First Light Farmand Creamery will be featuring first place winners in their class at the American Cheese Society 2019 national awards: Old Chatham Ewe’s Blue and Old Chatham Nature’s Perfect Yogurt.

Wohlschlegel’s Naples Maple Farm will have maple mustard; maple fudge; bourbon barrel aged maple syrup; maple BBQ sauce; maple cotton candy; maple coated almonds, cashews, and pecans; traditional, cinnamon, and raspberry maple cream spread; pure NYS maple syrup in flavors golden, amber, dark, and very dark; granulated maple sugar; maple garlic rub; maple coffee and tea; wheat-free oatmeal maple dog treats; soft and hard sugar shapes; and body-care products — maple vanilla soap, lotion, and lip balm.

Seaway Trail Honey will have summer honey, harvested on Thursday, a light amber honey — fresh, raw, with active enzymes; all seasonal local raw honeys from spring to fall, certified Kosher; honeycomb; cute mini bears; black walnuts, almonds, pistachios in honey; infused honeys with organic lavender, ginger, rosemary, cocoa, and cinnamon; pure beeswax candles; and propolis — the leaf resins that bees collect — in powdered, chunks, and tincture; stop by for a sampling, for information about bees and the different types of honey, and to see the educational display of live honey bees for the non-profit NY Bee Wellness Inc. 

RocBucha is bringing blackberry-orange, pineapple-ginger, and raspberry-lemonade kombucha on tap, and will have bottled flavors including ginger, strawberry-basil, pineapple-ginger, blueberry-mint, and raspberry-lemonade; bring any bottle (RocBucha’s or other brand) to fill for $1 off. Brian’s Kitchen will have gluten-free and vegan cookies, granola bars, and chocolate fudge.

Newbury Park Pastries will have chicken, veggie, panang, shepherds, and steak & stout pot pies along with sugar cookies, rugelach, and tarts. Pasta Classics will have ravioli flavors including meatball, six cheese, and crab & shrimp, plus cheese gnocchi and a wide variety of strombolis.

Boy and the Baker will have seasonal brioche, almond brioche, soft pretzel, pecan maple sticky buns, brioche twist, assorted muffins, coconut rocher, cherry almond granola, roasted banana bread, and chocolate chunk and cinnamon oatmeal raisin cookies. Lavender Moon is bringing soaps, salves, lotions, teas, culinary blends, and all natural repellents Bug Off and Tick Me Off.

JonJohn’s Bakery is bringing sweet potato tarts, blackberry peach tarts (fruit from Lagoner Farms), mom’s mac & cheese, lemon blueberry blackberry raspberry cake (fruit from Lagoner Farms), peanut butter balls, chocolate dipped bourbon balls, bourbon peach cobbler (fruit from Lagoner Farms), bourbon butter pound cake, coconut pecan chocolate chip cookies, monster brownies, grandma’s breakfast cake, monster chocolate cake, oatmeal cranberry cookies, and lemonade. 

Le Petit Poutine will have fresh peach soda and summer sausage poutine — sauteed peppers and onions served with Italian sausage — everything but the bun, and can be prepared GF and dairy-free. Impact Earth will have sign-ups available for residential food scraps drop off program as well as zero waste lifestyle products and information about community solar. A special thanks to Impact Earth for providing zero waste services at Brighton Farmers’ Market each Sunday.
