This Week — June 28, 2020

That was fast — June raced by in a blur! Let’s try to stretch out these last few June days by treating ourselves to the month’s most delicious and ephemeral gifts — sweet juicy strawberries, the first raspberries, peas and sugar snap peas, garlic scapes, and lots more, this Sunday at Brighton Farmers’ Market, 9-1, 1150 Winton Rd. S., Rochester.

Pre-ordering is no longer required at the Market. You may shop on site. We do encourage pre-ordering whenever possible — it is the safest way to buy food with minimal contact and it assures your ability to obtain product in short supply. Vendor contact info is listed below.

  • All product will be prepackaged. Preordering is not required but is strongly encouraged.Credit cards are strongly encouraged, but cash transactions will be allowed. Links to individual vendor sites to make it easy to preorder are listed above and at Preordering is the safest way to purchase vendors’ products and it assures customers’ ability to obtain product in short supply.
  • SNAP and FMNP customers are welcome as always. Preordering is not required. SNAP customers will pay with their benefits cards at the Market booth (please have the dollar amount of items ordered and vendor names with you) and transactions will take place without tokens. FMNP customers will give coupons directly to vendors. No credit/debit tokens will be sold.
  • The first hour on Market day (9-10) will be reserved for seniors and vulnerable individuals, and for customers who are picking up preordered product. One individual per family should attend where possible, and we ask that dogs stay home.
  • All vendors and customers must wear face masks.
  • Social distancing must be maintained — six feet between individuals. We will space tents as far apart as possible.
  • Vendors will maintain safe spaces — surfaces wiped with disinfectant spray, and hand sanitizer will be available at every booth.
  • Vendors should have safeguards in place to ensure that customers not touch product, and to ensure that customers do not place any personal objects, such as bags, money, purses or cell phones, on vendor tables. Customers and vendors must stay home if sick.
  • These Market Rules will be attached and incorporated in the Brighton Farmers Market Health Safety Plan, a copy of which will be on the Market premises while the Market is open.

We want to highlight our partnership with the Brighton Food Cupboard, bringing food to the many members of our community who need a little extra help, especially now.
