Brighton Farmers’ Market will be open this Sunday to help ease you back into past-holiday eating. If you’re thinking a nice turkey soup is in order, our farmers will have an abundance of good things to go in the pot along with what’s left of your turkey.

Lakestone Family Farm is bringing baby bok choi, kale, Swiss chard, multi color carrots, garlic, potatoes, winter squash, chicken, eggs, and Christmas wreaths, all certified organic. Andy’s Specialty Garlic & Produce will have certified organic sweet carrots, red leaf lettuce, fresh ginger, napa cabbage, garlic, beets, sweet potatoes, spinach, green cabbage, arugula, onions, potatoes, leeks, daikon radishes, garlic powder, kale, sweet peppers, pie pumpkins, butternut squash, and Georgia Candy Roaster squash.

Clearview Farm is bringing certified organic kale (lacinato, red Russian, and Vates curly) including a free recipe with any kale purchase, plus baby turnip greens, arugula, baby bok choi, eschallions, Blush onions, leeks, truly free-range eggs, frozen stewing hens, and frozen organically grass-grown Angus steaks, roasts, ground beef, and variety meats. Happy Hooves Organic Farm will have certified organic and 100% grass fed and grass finished beef in cold weather friendly roasts, stew, meaty soup bones, and ground beef, plus certified organic, pasture raised whole frozen chickens from the flock of Freedom Ranger chickens fed no soy and no corn, and some likewise turkey cuts.

Fellenz Family Farm is bringing rutabaga, onions, leeks, garlic, celeriac, radishes, lettuce, salad mix, arugula, and honey. Bolton Farms will have lettuces, kale, winter squash, arugula, bok choi, parsley, cilantro, and basil. Growing Family Farms will have certified organic greens, winter squash, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, garlic, onions, raw honey, Small World ferments and granola, and Singer Naturals tart cherry juice.

Bristol Mushrooms is bringing lion’s mand and king oyster mushrooms, fresh picked and certified organic. Fisher Hill Farm will have leeks, cabbage, fennel, kale, chard, sprouts, winter squash, roots, grapes, eggs, chicken, duck, and turkey.

Stonecrop Farm will have certified organic chicken, eggs, and pasture raised pork and duck. K&S Bischoping is bringing a good assortment of apples including Honeycrisp, Snapdragon, Crispin, Empire, Jonagold, and Golden Delicious, plus a variety of heirloom apples.

Honeybee Happy & Healthy Herbs will have fresh cut flat leaf and curly parsley, sage, oregano, and peppermint, along with raw honey, teas and spices, and cookies — sweet lemon and chewy chocolate chip, both made with organic ingredients. R&M Bischoping is bringing lots of honey soaps, beeswax lotion bars, lip balms, and candles, plus regular honey, creamed honey, and cinnamon creamed honey; Robin will also offer gift sets.

Flour City Pasta will have pasta gift boxes. Wohlschlegel’s Naples Maple Farm is bringing pure NYS maple syrup (golden, amber, dark, and very dark), fancy holiday glass, maple cream spread, granulated maple sugar, maple garlic rub, maple coffee and tea, wheat free oatmeal maple dog treats, soft and hard sugar shapes, and body care products — maple vanilla soap, lotion, and lip balm.

EBT/SNAP Bonus Program/Fresh Connect Checks

We’re pleased to offer our Market Bonus Program for EBT/SNAP customers. Purchase at least $10 in tokens with an EBT card, and receive $5 in bonus tokens to be used at the market to purchase EBT eligible foods. We now are also offering Fresh Connect Checks to SNAP customers; this state-funded program allows us to give a $2 Fresh Connect Check with each $5 in tokens purchased with an EBT/SNAP card, which can be used to purchase any SNAP-eligible foods at the market.
