Holiday Shopping at the Market

This Week at the Market – December 10, 2017

Come get in a holiday mood with us at Brighton Farmers’ Market, where vendors will have plenty to offer for holiday gifts and feasts. R&M Bischoping will have honey plus a wide variety of honey soaps, beeswax lotion bars, and lip balms, with gift sets available. Lavender Moon is bringing wreath orders plus soaps, lotions, salves, culinary blends, and tea.

Tripleberry Farm is bringing pesticide-free jams, holiday candies, and fudge, plus goat milk soaps. Seaway Trail Honey will have an assortment of holiday beeswax candles; raw, fresh, local varieties of award-winning spring to fall pure wildflower honey and honeycomb; and sample packs, from the bees by the shore of Lake Ontario, certified Kosher; as well as honey sweetmeats — local black walnuts in honey and almonds and pistachios in honey.

Newbury Park Pastries will have chicken, veggie, shepherds, panang, and veggie pot pies along with cut out cookies and tarts. Flour City Pasta is bringing pasta gift boxes.

Farmhouse Table will have holiday sweets and candies, as well as fresh salads and pickles made from ingredients sourced from farms at the Market. JonJohn’s Bakery is bringing Mom’s mac and cheese, bread pudding, apple cobbler, hoho cake, peanut butter balls, chocolate dipped bourbon balls, carrot cake, and chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies.

Wohlschlegel’s Naples Maple Farm is bringing maple syrup in fancy holiday glass; bourbon barrel aged maple syrup; maple cotton candy; maple coated almonds, cashews, and pecans; traditional, cinnamon, and raspberry maple cream spread; maple mustard; pure NYS maple syrup in flavors golden, amber, dark, and very dark; granulated maple sugar; maple garlic rub; maple coffee and tea; wheat free oatmeal maple dog treats; soft and hard sugar shapes; and skin care products — maple vanilla soap, lotion, and lip balm.

Bolton Farms is bringing Boston bibb lettuce, spring mix, lettuce bouquets, micro greens, sorrel, cilantro, escarole, and arugula. Clearview Farm is bringing certified organic green acorn, carnival, butternut, and delicata squash; golden turnips; dried Italian oregano and dried lemon basil; an assortment of organically-fed 100% grass-grown Angus beef cuts; and Callan Farms organic dry black and cannellini beans.

K&S Bischoping will have a good selection of apples including Ruby Frost, Gold Delicious, Jonagold, Cameo, and Crispin. Stonecrop Farm is bringing a full selection of cuts of pasture-raised heritage pork and whole chickens, as well as chicken wings, backs, feet, and organs.

Bristol Mushrooms will have shiitake, king oyster, and lion’s mane mushrooms, fresh-picked, certified organic, and grown on substrates that are free of pesticide and spray. Andy’s Specialty Garlic & Produce will have certified organic spinach, salad mix, pea shoots, baby kale, carrots, napa cabbage, beets, sweet potatoes, yellow onions, red and yellow potatoes, green cabbage, and hardneck garlic.

Happy Hooves is bringing sausage and pork cuts from organic pigs raised on pasture with no corn or soy, organic 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef, organic eggs from free ranging hens fed no soy or corn, fresh duck breasts from organic free-range pekin ducks fed no soy or corn, and new holiday scented candles and soaps made with organic ingredients including fats from the farm.

Shannon Brook Farm is featuring free-range, certified organic chickens (Cornish game hens and broilers); pekin ducks; grass-fed lamb chips; and pasture-raised, heritage-breed, organically-fed pork shoulder roasts; Shannon and Walter recommend this easy duck recipe.
