Earth Day at the Market

This Week at the Market – April 22, 2018

Happy Earth Day! Why not celebrate by stopping by Brighton Farmers’ Market to support those who tend our Earth, our farmers, and who provide us with her gifts. Despite this wintry spring, these greens are thriving in Growing Family Farm’s greenhouse; this week Paul is bringing certified organic spinach, kale, pea shoots, rosemary, cilantro, parsley, pasture-raised chicken and duck eggs, Small World ferments and granola, and Singer Farm Naturals tart cherry juice.

Bolton Farms
will have lettuce bouquets, Boston bibb lettuce, spring mix, spinach, red Russian kale, broccoli raab, micro greens, bok choi, cilantro, and escarole. Happy Hooves Organic Farm is bringing organic 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef cuts, sausages and assorted cuts from organic pasture-raised pigs fed no soy and no corn, lots of organic eggs from free-ranging hens raised without soy or corn, raw wildflower honey, and candles and soaps made with organic ingredients from the farm.

Fisher Hill Farm will have pea and sunflower shoots, microgreens, carrots, parsnips, potatoes,  onions, shallots, kohlrabi, turnips, beets, eggs, and frozen chicken, duck, and turkey. Shannon Brook Farm is featuring pasture-raised, certified organic whole and half chickens; pasture-raised, certified organic whole ducks; grass-fed on organic pastures lamb chops (loin, shoulder, leg, and rib); and plenty of pasture-raised certified organic pork cuts, several types of bacon, and sausages — all nitrate-free and processed with organic seasonings.

Clearview Farm is bringing certified organic truly free-range brown eggs; organically-fed Black Angus steaks, roasts, ribs, ground beef, liver, and more; dried Genovese and lemon basil, spearmint, and thyme; and Callan Farms dry black and cannellini beans. Newbury Park Pastries will have chicken, shepherds, veggie, and panang pot pies along with cut-out cookies.

Brian’s Kitchen will have cookies, chocolate fudge, and granola bars. Tripleberry Farm is bringing pesticide-free traditional and reduced sugar jams along with a small selection of goat milk soaps. Flour City Pasta is bringing new shapes, per popular request — rigatoni, with a Utica chicken riggies recipe, and fusilli, with a broccoli raab recipe.

Wohlschlegel’s Naples Maple Farm is bringing maple BBQ sauce; maple cotton candy; maple coated almonds, cashews, and pecans; traditional, cinnamon, and raspberry maple cream spread; maple mustard; pure NYS maple syrup in golden, amber, dark, and very dark; granulated maple sugar; maple garlic rub; maple coffee and tea; wheat free oatmeal maple dog treats; soft and hard sugar shapes; and body care products — maple vanilla soap, lotion, and lip balm.
