It’s the annual Public Safety Day at Brighton Farmers’ Market this week, one of our favorite special events of the season! Brighton’s finest from the Brighton Fire Department, Brighton Police Department, and Brighton Volunteer Ambulance will join us to offer information about their services and tips on how to keep our homes and families safe. Kids are especially welcome. Thanks to our emergency responders for their vital service to our community.

Sweet corn arrives at the Market this week! Fisher Hill Farm is bringing the season’s first sweet corn, along with lots of other fresh vegetables, eggs, chicken, and Red Jacket juices. Lots of tomatoes this week too — Growing Family Farms will have certified organic heirloom, saladette, slicers, and cherry/grape tomatoes, plus Asian cucumbers, Italian and Asian eggplant, celery, sweet peppers, romaine and red butter lettuce, new potatoes, summer squash, fresh onions, fresh garlic, Mediterranean zucchini, chard, scarlet kale, pasture-raised chicken and duck eggs, raw honey, and Singer Farm Naturals tart cherry juice.

Deep Root Farm is bringing cucumbers, tomatoes, salad mix, lettuce, beets, chard, kale, and napa cabbage. Stonecrop Farm will have fresh cuts of pasture-raised pork including tenderloin, chops, spare ribs, shoulder roasts, sausage, ground pork, bones, and organ meats, plus certified organic fresh whole chickens, breasts, leg quarters, wings, feet, frames, and organ meats.

Happy Hooves Organic Farm is bringing cuts of 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef, new cuts of heritage pasture-raised pork, eggs from truly free-ranging hens, and fresh chickens–whole, cut, with and without giblets, and spatchcocked–from pasture-raised Freedom Ranger breed chickens; all meats and eggs are raised without soy, corn, or wheat and are certified organic. K&S Bischoping will have red and black raspberries; red, white, and black currants; and gooseberries.

Shannon Brook Farm is featuring ribs — certified organic, pasture-raised, heritage breed pork spareribs and baby back ribs and grass-fed lamb Denver ribs. Dearhaven Farm will have certified organic spray-free produce and berries including snap beans, black raspberries, red raspberries, black currants, cucumbers, green cabbage, beetroot, celery, fennel, summer squash and zucchini, lettuce, fresh garlic, carrots, basil, dill, parsley, and other fresh herbs, all harvested fresh for market.

Fellenz Family Farm is bringing certified organic yellow squash, pattypan squash, zucchini (regular, striped, yellow), cucumbers (Asian, pickling, regular), garlic, garlic scapes, tomatoes, baby carrots, lettuce, and cut herbs, plus Wild Thistle Herbal products. Tripleberry Farm will have pesticide-free blueberries and raspberries, traditional and reduced sugar jams, new cucumber melon goat milk soap, and jewel weed goat milk soap for poison ivy.

Lighthouse Gardens will have organic cherry tomatoes, red and yellow sweet peppers, lettuce bouquets, baby salad greens, celery, rainbow Swiss chard, garlic scapes, and fresh cut herbs, plus herb and vegetable transplants including tomatoes, lettuces, kales, chards, beets, cole crops, cucumbers, squashes, succulents in pots and hanging baskets, perennials, hostas, herb planters, berry plants, and organic potting soil. Chicory Blue Gardens will have sunflowers, zinnias, and bright summery bouquets.

Smugtown Mushrooms is bringing fresh homegrown shiitake, golden oyster, blue oyster, and king trumpet mushrooms, plus shiitake grow kits, wine cap grow kits, medicinal mushroom tincture, dried reishi (whole and pulverized), and educational field guides. Bolton Farms will have Genovese basil, spring mix, arugula, soil-grown beets and greens, lettuce bouquets, butterhead bibb lettuce, watercress, mustard greens, Tuscan kale, red Russian kale, curly kale, bok choi, spicy mix, tatsoi, dandelion greens, and broccoli raab.

Lagoner Farms will have blueberries, sweet cherries, sour cherries, apricots, raspberries, and apples. Seaway Trail Honey is bringing spring to fall seasonal honeys and honeycomb, certified Kosher, cute mini bears, nuts in honey, infused honeys, pure beeswax, and candles, all from the small scale, small batch apiary near Pultneyville by Lake Ontario; see live bees in an observation hive for the non-profit NY Bee Wellness.

Wohlschlegel’s Naples Maple Farm is bringing barrel aged maple syrup; maple BBQ sauce; maple cotton candy; maple coated cashews and pecans; traditional, cinnamon, and raspberry maple cream spread; maple mustard; pure NYS maple syrup in golden, amber, dark, and very dark; granulated maple sugar; maple garlic rub; maple coffee and tea; wheat free oatmeal maple dog treats; soft and hard sugar shapes; and body care products — maple vanilla soap, lotion, and lip balm.

Lavender Moon is bringing all-natural repellents Bug Off and Tick Me Off; stop by for a complimentary cup of hibiscus cooler iced tea. Newbury Park Pastries will have chicken, veggie, shepherds, lobster mac & cheese, and panang pot pies along with award-winning proper pork pies, plus cherry and triple berry pies and cherry lime mascarpone tarts.

Brian’s Kitchen is bringing cookies — regular, gluten-free, and vegan, as well as chocolate fudge and granola bars. Pasta Classics will have ravioli flavors including six cheese, sausage and roasted garlic, and butternut squash, plus garlic and pepper fresh pasta and a wide variety of strombolis.

Farmhouse Table is bringing fresh salads, small bites, and baked goods. Eat Me Ice Cream is celebrating National Ice Cream Day July 15th with buy one pint get one half off and will offer a variety of seasonal ice cream bars and pints in NYS Certified Dairy and certified vegan flavors.

RocBucha is offering bottled kombucha in blueberry-mint, ginger, pineapple-ginger, and strawberry-basil; on tap will be strawberry-basil, pineapple-ginger, and blackberry-orange. JonJohn’s Bakery is bringing mom’s mac & cheese, four-layer lemon/blueberry/raspberry dream cake by the slice, assorted muffin flavors (raspberry, blueberry, chocolate brownie, oatmeal chocolate chip), monster chocolate brownies, chocolate chip and oatmeal cranberry cookies, grandma’s breakfast cake, and ice cold lemonade.

Impact Earth is offering a food waste and compostable wares hauling service at the Market; pick up a bucket and pay a deposit, return your filled bucket next week, and pick up a clean new bucket. Thanks to Impact Earth for collecting trash and recycling at the Market each week to promote our efforts to be a zero-waste Market.
